Overview

There is a joke that the first tourist to visit Armenia was Noah on his ark, and the first tour operator was God. We will begin this wonderful journey from Yerevan to the south – through the Ararat region to Vayots Dzor – with the legend of Noah – approaching almost close to the foot of Ararat near the Armenian-Turkish border. As we know, the most important symbol of the Armenians – Mount Ararat – is not located on the territory of the Republic of Armenia. However, Khor Virap is the best place to admire the mountain. This is where our first stop is planned.

The main part of our trip will take place in the Vayots Dzor region – in the wine-growing region of Areni, where we will get acquainted with one of the oldest evidence of the origin of winemaking in Armenia – a 6000-year-old winery, in which archaeological excavations are still ongoing and which ceases to amaze with new discoveries. Here in Areni, we will naturally taste the wine produced and processed from the Black Areni grapes since ancient times. It is especially interesting to be here during the Areni Wine Festival. Also, we will not pass by the medieval monastery complex Noravank.

We will end the tour with a visit to one of the most famous health centers in Armenia and the region – the city of Jermuk. After getting acquainted with the sights of the city and tasting types of mineral waters, we will go on all-terrain vehicles to the hot mineral springs, where everyone can take natural baths and free themselves from the exhaustion of a busy day.
